Seminar: Will Cinema Survive?

Producers, Directors and Scriptwriters

Acclaimed producer James Schamus will, on his way to the Berlinale, make a stopover in Copenhagen.

We have invited him and producer Louise Vesth for a 1-day seminar to discuss the current challenges the cinema faces, working with emerging and established directors and what it takes to be a producer today.

James Schamus is an international acclaimed producer and writer. He was co-founder of Good Machine production company, and the CEO of Focus Features. He has a long collaboration with director Ang Lee and has been involved in films like Poison (Tod Haynes), Sense and Sensibility (Ang Lee), The Ice Storm (Ang Lee), Happiness (Todd Solondz), Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon (Ang Lee), Brokeback Mountain (Ang Lee) among many.
James Schamus also teaches film history and theory at Columbia University.

Louise Vesth graduated as a producer from The National Film School of Denmark in 2001 and shortly after started as producer at Zentropa.
Louise Vesth has produced films like Melancholia, En kongelig affære, Kvinden i buret, Nymphomaniac: Vol. I and II, Fasandræberne, Flaskepost fra P, Du forsvinder, The House That Jack Built among many.

Kurset afholdes onsdag d.14.februar 2018 fra kl. 10.00-16.30. Prisen er kr. 475,- og inkluderer

Kaffe,te, vand og frokost.
