Reel Talent Award

I år er hun aktuel med filmen ’Olmo and the Seagull’.

Juryens begrundelse:

The Association of Danish Film Directors and CPH:DOX hand out the Real Talent Award to a documentary director, who has shown an exceptional cinematic vision at an early stage.

The Award is given as a collegial pad on the shoulder to a director on his or her way to the stars - and as an encouragement to continue realizing the cinematic vision of his or her first films.

As filmmakers, we must have a steadiness in insisting on both getting the story – as well as getting close. This takes time and patience, especially when the process might turn - as it often does in real life. Likewise in the documentaries that we - in the jury have seen.

It was clear to us that the filmmaker have the ability of getting close – as well as intimate with their characters, so that we get to see them - not only as characters in a well-told story, but we also get to understand them as human beings… who they are outside the film.

This tenderness and persistence of the directors point of view open up doors for a deeper truth, where we - in the audience understand the mindblowing complexity of both friendship and relationship.
This is a crucial truth about filmmaking – that one of the keys of creating a unique story - lies in the eyes of the story teller, who is determining every frame and every sentiment of the film.
For creating these beautiful, artistic and cinematic films with both high ambitions and solid craftsmanship - This year's Reel Talent Award goes to both Lea Glob and Camilla Nilsson.

Juryen i år var: Mette-Ann Schepelern, Klaus Kjeldsen, Tine Fischer, Anne Wivel og Charlotte Cook.
